Infinite Self: 33 Steps to Reclaiming Your Inner Power by Stuart Wilde (1996)

B51245A3-52BB-4D1C-A643-BD349A29430ENow in it’s 20th printing, this popular book was originally published in 1996. In this book, the author provides the reader with 33 steps on how to transcend the ego in order to reach a higher level of consciousness, which is said by many spiritual teachers to be the next event in the evolution of mankind. Each of the steps found in this book are based on the ancient teachings of the Tao Te Ching, which the author successfully translates into practical and easy to understand concepts.

The author explores such issues as: learning how to have an empowering attitude, strengthening your ability to receive the subtle messages of the God Force, and quieting the always chattering mind, called the ego. Along with the basic spiritual practices, this book also covers more advanced disciplines such as: the various types of meditations and their benefits, detoxifying the body, and learning how to successfully navigate through life’s more difficult challenges without reacting in way that would not be in our best interests.

Written with humour, this is a well-organized book of spiritual concepts. I found that there is something in this book for everyone, no matter where they might be on their spiritual journey. For me, these teachings have prompted me to renew my commitment to meditation, as well as a few other spiritual practices I’ve either forgotten about, or newly learned from this book. In addition, the author touches on the principles of the Law of Attraction, and successfully ties it in with the spiritual practices, making this a well-rounded read for both spiritual self-improvement and the art of manifestation.

I enjoyed this book very much and would recommend it to anyone who has the desire to tame the judgemental ego, and learn how to enrich your spiritual life. This book provides solid metaphysical teachings in an interesting writing style. Definitely a worthwhile read to be studied again and again.
